On December 23, the first large-scale pumped-storage power station in our province, unit 4 of jing 'an hongping power station, was fully operational for one month, and the success rate of power generation pumping was maintained at 100%, achieving the expected goal of "full operation and commercial operation of four units within one year" of the hongping power station. The houmpheng pumped storage power plant become the largest "battery" in central China power grid and the emergency power supply, the power grid peak shaving and valley filling, frequency modulation, phase modulation, and emergency will play a major role, at the same time will provide central China and east China power grid security and stability level of power and power supply reliable guarantee, in the comprehensive utilization of energy, resources, effective deployment and green economic development is of great significance.

　　Located in sanjelun, jingan county, hongping pumped storage power station is a scenic area. Construction started on June 6, 2010. It has two reservoirs, the upper and the lower, which are built in natural mountain basins with a total capacity of 30.77 million cubic meters. The lower reservoir was built using natural river channels, with a total capacity of 63.16 million cubic meters and a drop of 550 meters between the upper and lower reservoirs. The total investment for the first phase is 5.188 billion yuan.

China is currently building 23 pumped storage power stations, greatly promoting the grid connection of clean energy consumption and large-scale optimization of allocation. According to the preliminary calculation, the construction and operation of the hongping power station alone can replace 120,000 tons of raw coal annually, reduce 253,000 tons of carbon dioxide, and contribute nearly 100 million yuan of tax to the local government annually, which has significant economic, environmental and social benefits.
